The People and Now Science Continue to be Ignored; Obama's Top Question on Transition Site Gets 12 Word Answer

Although not surprising but very disappointing the subject did not and probably will not get too much attention from the Obama administration.  Marijuana Reform was the most voted on and TOP question asked on his change.org transition site.   With a serious economic crisis going on, it’s obvious that his team and Obama himself would shrug off the issue.  But, to give a short twelve word answer to a subject that deserves incredible attention and discussion on a national level from people who dont have their head hidden somewhere dark, is still a sad reality of politics in America.

Q: “Will you consider legalizing marijuana so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it, and create millions of new jobs and create a billion dollar industry right here in the U.S.?” S. Man, Denton

A: President-elect Obama is not in favor of the legalization of marijuana.

Although I’m sure Blago would have sold you rich tokers a spot as a lawmaker.  And to think he is the only one who has bought and sold the blood of American Partiots is naive at best.  Marijuana is still taboo, and is still looked at like a dangerous drug to those who follow the government word to the T.

Change. Now looking like just another pipe dream.

NORML points out a few more important pieces HERE about how the fight is at the local level, and where the REAL change will happen.  People like us reforming laws in cities, counties, and states.

It cant be ignored and wont stay illegal forever.  Alcohol prohibition should have taught us that.
